At Fairview Hospital we are committed to providing high quality care and to sharing our results with the public. We consistently perform better than other U.S. hospitals on providing the best care for patients who are experiencing heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgery. We also remain committed to the Patients First initiative to report our nursing sensitive measures.
Fairview Hospital is a federally designated Crital Access Hospital (CAH), Fairview Hospital has 25 licensed beds. Our fall rate may appear high due to our small patient volume. Our fall rate at times in the Critical Care Unit may seem higher than our peer group, but our critical care unit functions as a combination medical/surgical overflow, step-down unit, and critical care unit. Also, our patients on the critical care unit are not always on life support or otherwise unable to walk. We encourage the public to review the webpage’s statistical appendix.
We have an interdisciplinary falls committee which has implemented changes to improve communication amongst staff, improve falls assessment procedures and update/change equipment as needed.
